Description

What the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot is

The Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot is a lightweight vitamin C emulsion in a squeeze tube, sold in a 30 ml size and a 10 ml travel size. It goes on clean skin before moisturiser, and it is aimed at dark spots, dullness and uneven tone.

It is the eighth Arencia product we have listed and the first one where the headline ingredient is genuinely present at a working concentration. After seven pages of finding hero ingredients at 1 ppm and 0.13 ppm, we want to be clear about that up front.

It is fragrance-free and it carries Korea’s dual functional certification for whitening and wrinkle improvement.

Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot claims: fades dark spots, boosts clarity and radiance, refines texture
Arencia positions the Booster Shot for dark spots, clarity and texture. This time the ingredient list supports most of it.

The Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot has 5 percent ethyl ascorbic acid, and the brand prints the number

3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid is the fourth ingredient, and Arencia declares it at 50,000 ppm. That is 5 percent.

Five percent is a real, working dose of a stable vitamin C derivative. Ethyl ascorbic acid is one of the better vitamin C forms for a consumer product: it is far more stable than pure L-ascorbic acid, it does not brown in the tube within weeks, and it converts to ascorbic acid in the skin.

To put 50,000 ppm in context against the rest of this brand’s range: the calendula in their Calendula cleanser is at 1 ppm, the hyssop in the Blue Hyssop at 1.05 ppm, the black tea at 10 ppm, and the collagen in the Red Smoothie Serum at 0.13 ppm. The active in the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot is present at roughly fifty thousand times the concentration of the calendula in that cleanser.

This is the one. If you were going to buy a single product from this brand on the strength of its actives, buy this one.

And the “pure vitamin C” is at 10 ppm

Now the asterisk, because there is always one. Arencia markets this product as containing pure vitamin C, and their key-ingredient panel gives “Pure Vitamin C” its own line with no number attached.

Pure vitamin C means ascorbic acid. It is the twenty-third ingredient of twenty-nine, and the Korean legal filing declares it at 10 ppm — 0.001 percent. Arencia prints both figures on the same ingredient panel: 50,000 ppm beside the ethyl ascorbic acid, 10 ppm beside the ascorbic acid.

So the marketing highlights the ingredient at 10 ppm and stays quiet about the one at 50,000 ppm doing all the work. That is a strange choice, and it is the eighth time in this range that the ingredient on the front of the pack is not the ingredient in the formula.

The difference here is that the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot works anyway. The ethyl ascorbic acid is doing the job whether or not the marketing points at it.

Arencia prints both numbers on their own panel: ethyl ascorbic acid at 50,000 ppm and ascorbic acid at 10 ppm.

The Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot ingredient list — all twenty-nine

From Arencia’s Korean legal filing, in label order, with both declared concentrations.

Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (50,000 ppm), Butylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Cetearyl Olivate, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Diisostearyl Malate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer.

Sorbitan Olivate, Arginine, Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dextrin, Adenosine, Allantoin, Ascorbic Acid (10 ppm), Glutathione, Panthenol, Pyridoxine, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate.

No fragrance, no parfum, no essential oil. This is the fifth fragrance-free Arencia product we stock.

What is actually working in the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot

Ethyl ascorbic acid, fourth, at 5 percent

The reason to buy this. A stable vitamin C at a dose the research supports for brightening and antioxidant protection.

Niacinamide, eighth

Korea’s approved whitening active, and high enough in the list to matter. Niacinamide and vitamin C work on pigmentation by different mechanisms, so pairing them is sensible rather than redundant. The old advice that they cancel each other out has not held up.

Adenosine, twenty-first

Korea’s approved anti-wrinkle active. The wrinkle certification requires a minimum of 0.04 percent, so this is a regulated floor rather than a brand claim.

The oils, sixth to fifteenth

Caprylic/capric triglyceride, cetyl ethylhexanoate, cetearyl olivate, diisostearyl malate and sorbitan olivate. This is what separates the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot from the brand’s jelly serums: it is an emulsion with real emollients in it, not a water gel. It will feel richer, and it suits drier skin better than the Holy Hyssop serums do.

Glutathione, twenty-fourth

Named in the product marketing and on the pack, sitting twenty-fourth of twenty-nine with no concentration declared. Glutathione is also poorly absorbed through skin — the evidence for topical glutathione is thin compared with the evidence for vitamin C. Treat it as a supporting name, not a reason to buy.

Arencia gives pure vitamin C, glutathione, panthenol and allantoin their own lines. Note the footnote: based on the known properties of ingredients.

The Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot test data — and the number nobody quotes

This is the best-substantiated claim set Arencia publishes on any product we stock, and it is worth walking through properly.

The brand shows before-and-after images captured after two weeks of use, with three figures, all footnoted as based on instrumental evaluation of 21 subjects by a named Korean dermatological research institute.

  • 100 percent agreed their skin tone looked visibly clearer.
  • 13.44 percent improvement in dark spots.
  • 1.7 percent improvement in overall skin tone.

A named third-party institute, a stated subject count and instrumental measurement is real methodology. Compare it with the Blue Hyssop cleanser, where a 13 percent blackhead claim comes with no participants, no method and no timeframe at all. Arencia did the work here.

Now look at the first and third figures together, because they measure the same thing. One hundred percent of people said their skin tone looked clearer. The instrument measured a 1.7 percent change in overall skin tone.

That gap is the most useful thing on this page, and Arencia published it themselves rather than quietly dropping the inconvenient number. Self-reported agreement and instrumental measurement are not the same evidence, and a product can be genuinely liked by everyone who tries it while moving a measurement barely at all.

Twenty-one subjects is also a small panel, and two weeks is a short window for pigmentation, which typically takes months. The 13.44 percent dark spot figure is the one we would weigh most, and it is a reasonable result for two weeks.

Arencia publishes 100 percent self-reported agreement alongside a 1.7 percent instrumental change in overall skin tone. Both numbers describe the same claim.

What eight Arencia products taught us

This is the eighth Arencia product we have listed, and we have read every ingredient list against the brand’s Korean legal filings rather than their marketing. A pattern came out of it that is worth handing to you.

In seven of the eight, the ingredient named on the front of the pack sits at the bottom of the formula. Calendula at 1 ppm. Hyssop at 1.05 ppm and last of twenty-one. Black tea at 10 ppm, in a product called a rice cleanser that contains no rice. Collagen at 0.13 ppm on a jar printed “packed with collagen”. Rice at positions twenty-one and twenty-two of twenty-two. A Vitamin ACE Complex containing no vitamin A, twice.

The Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot is the exception, and that is exactly why we are pointing at it. Fifty thousand parts per million of a stable vitamin C, declared by the brand, sitting fourth in the list. When Arencia formulates properly they are capable of it.

None of this makes them a bad brand. The cleansers are pleasant, the surfactant system is mild throughout, and their Korean filings are more transparent than most. It makes them a normal one — a company whose marketing department writes cheques its formulation department was not asked to cash.

Our job is to sell you the right jar, not every jar. On the evidence of eight ingredient lists, the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot is the one we would put our own money on.

30 ml or 10 ml Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot — which size to buy

We stock both, and for once the smaller size is not just a token gesture.

The 10 ml is a genuine trial size. Vitamin C is the active most likely to sting, flush or simply not agree with a particular face, and 5 percent ethyl ascorbic acid is a proper dose rather than a token one. Spending under nine hundred taka to find out whether your skin likes the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot is a sensible way to buy a vitamin C product for the first time.

The 30 ml is the one to buy once you know it suits you. It works out cheaper per millilitre and it is the size that will actually carry you through a course of use, which for pigmentation means months rather than weeks.

The 10 ml also travels. A tube this size clears hand-luggage rules and will not leak in a bag the way a dropper bottle does.

Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot shelf life — and why this one is shorter

Arencia gives 24 months from manufacture and six months after opening. Every other product in this range is rated three years.

That shorter figure is not a defect. It is what an honest shelf life looks like on a product carrying 5 percent vitamin C, because vitamin C oxidises and a brand that rates it for three years is either using a form that does nothing or hoping you will not check. Arencia rating the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot at two years is a point in its favour.

Practical consequences. Buy the size you will finish. Keep the tube closed, cool and out of light. If the contents turn deep yellow-brown or smell sharp and metallic, the vitamin C has oxidised and it is time to stop — oxidised vitamin C is not merely inactive, it can irritate.

How to use the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot

  1. Cleanse and let the skin dry. Unlike the jelly serums, this one goes onto dry skin.
  2. Squeeze a small amount — a grain of rice is enough for the whole face.
  3. Spread thinly, or apply only to the areas with marks if you prefer to spot-treat.
  4. Follow with moisturiser.
  5. In the morning, finish with sunscreen. Always.

Arencia’s own instruction is to start slowly if you are new to vitamin C, and we agree. Every other night for two weeks, then daily if all is well.

Layering the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot with other actives

Arencia advises against combining it with retinoids or strong actives, and that is sound. Five percent vitamin C plus a retinoid on the same night is a common route to a stinging, flaking face.

The simplest arrangement is vitamin C in the morning and a retinoid at night. If you use acids, keep them off vitamin C nights while you are building tolerance.

Niacinamide is already in this formula, so there is no need to layer another niacinamide serum over it. Using the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot alongside the Holy Hyssop or Red Smoothie serums means paying twice for the same ingredient in the same step.

How the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot suits this climate

The case for a vitamin C product in Bangladesh is strong, and it is not really about brightening. Vitamin C is an antioxidant, and antioxidant protection under strong year-round UV is the part that matters most. Sunscreen blocks; vitamin C mops up what gets through.

Two local warnings. First, heat is the enemy of vitamin C, and a tube left in a car or on a sunlit shelf in a Dhaka summer will oxidise faster than the two-year rating suggests. Keep it somewhere cool. Second, the emulsion base makes the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot richer than a water gel, so oily skin in July may want a very thin layer or a night-only routine.

And the obvious one: treating pigmentation without daily sunscreen is spending money against yourself. This product will not outrun the sun.

How to apply the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot to dull areas before moisturiser
A grain of rice is enough for the whole face. Apply to dry skin, then moisturiser, then sunscreen in the morning.

Who the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot suits

Good fit: dark spots and post-acne marks, dullness, uneven tone, tired-looking skin, normal to dry skin that finds water gels insufficient, and anyone who wants antioxidant protection alongside daily sunscreen.

Poor fit: skin that has stung on vitamin C before, an actively compromised barrier, and anyone using a nightly retinoid who does not want to reorganise their routine. Very oily skin may find the emollients too much in high summer — start with the 10 ml.

If you are pregnant, vitamin C is generally considered fine, but ask your doctor rather than a shop.

What the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot works out to per use

A grain of rice is roughly 0.05 ml, so the 30 ml tube gives a very large number of applications — realistically six months of daily use for a face, longer if you spot-treat. The 10 ml gives around two months.

Against the six-month opened shelf life, the 30 ml is sized about right for daily use and slightly too large if you use it a few times a week. That is worth thinking about before you buy the bigger tube on price alone.

Per use, the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot is the cheapest active product in this range. Five percent stable vitamin C at this price is good value by any standard, local or not.

Questions we get asked

Is 5 percent vitamin C in the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot enough?

For ethyl ascorbic acid, yes. It is a more potent derivative than ascorbyl glucoside or sodium ascorbyl phosphate, and 5 percent is within the range the research supports. You do not need the 20 percent L-ascorbic acid numbers you see on American serums to get a result.

Will the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot sting?

It should not. Ethyl ascorbic acid is far gentler than pure L-ascorbic acid at equivalent strength, and this is a pH-neutral emulsion rather than an acidic serum. If it stings, reduce frequency.

Will the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot go brown?

Eventually, like all vitamin C. The tube helps because it limits air exposure far better than a jar. Keep it cool and finish it within six months of opening.

Is the glutathione in the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot doing anything?

Probably very little. It is twenty-fourth of twenty-nine with no declared concentration, and topical glutathione has weak evidence behind it regardless of dose. The vitamin C is the active here.

Can I use the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot with sunscreen?

Yes, and you should. Apply this first, let it settle, then sunscreen. They work together rather than against each other.

Is the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot vegan?

Nothing in the twenty-nine-ingredient list is obviously animal-derived. Arencia holds no vegan certification we can verify, so we state the ingredient fact and stop.

How we store and ship the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot

Stock sits in air-conditioned storage in Dhaka until it goes out, and this is the product where that matters most in our whole range. Vitamin C degrades with heat and time, and a tube that has spent a week in a hot warehouse has lost potency you paid for.

Your tube is sealed when it leaves us and it is stock we imported ourselves, not a unit bought from another local seller and passed along. If it arrives damaged, unsealed or already discoloured, raise it with us the day it lands and we will replace it.

Where the Arencia Vitamin C Booster Shot fits in your routine

Cleanse, this on dry skin, moisturiser, then sunscreen in the morning. Or cleanse, this, moisturiser at night if you would rather keep mornings simple.

Morning use makes more sense on the antioxidant argument, since that is when UV exposure happens. Night use is easier if you already have a crowded morning routine. Either beats not using it.
