Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo is Neutrogena’s anti-dandruff shampoo positioned for itchy*, flaky scalp (*itch due to dandruff). Official Neutrogena UK pages describe an extra-power formula with 3% salicylic acid and 0.75% piroctone olamine that starts to fight dandruff from the first wash and helps relieve, reduce and prevent dry, itchy flaky scalp.

Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo 150ml official box packshot

At Lume & Layer BD this listing is the locked 150 ml size (SKU NEUTROGENA-TGEL-SCALP-RELIEF-SHAMPOO-150ML). The box and bottle match current Scalp Relief packaging with the yellow “FOR ITCHY*, FLAKY SCALP” banner, blue Scalp Relief naming, and the red “Starts to work from 1st use” callout. Larger regional volumes exist abroad; per store rules those sizes would become variations on this page later—never separate duplicate products.

If you already browse scalp care alongside face cleansers such as Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser, keep this page for hair and scalp only. Explore more under Hair Care and Shampoo & Conditioner.

What Is Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo?

Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo belongs to the Neutrogena T/Gel anti-dandruff family. The UK product page titles it for itchy, flaky scalp and marks it suitable for dandruff and dry hair concerns. It is a rinse-off shampoo—not a leave-on serum, not coal-tar Therapeutic Shampoo, and not the daily 1% salicylic acid T/Gel variants.

Pack and PDP language highlight purifying salicylic acid plus piroctone olamine so flakes can be broken down and washed away while the scalp is cleansed. Always match the bottle in hand to the Scalp Relief name and the 3% / 0.75% actives callouts.

Who Should Use Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo

Official UK “who it’s for” guidance for Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo includes dandruff, dry scalp, and itchy*, flaky scalp. On-pack copy also states the formula is suitable for people who may be prone to scalp psoriasis and seborrhoeic dermatitis.

Shoppers seeing visible flakes or itch linked to dandruff
People who want a higher salicylic acid concentration within the T/Gel line (3% on this SKU)
Routines that need 2–3 washes per week rather than a daily mild shampoo only
Colour-treated hair users when the back label marks suitability (confirm on your pack)

Who should check first: anyone with known allergies to listed surfactants or salicylic acid; broken or infected skin on the scalp; and anyone under medical care for scalp disease who needs clinician advice before changing shampoos. Adult-use warnings appear on pack.

Official Benefits of Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo

Claims below follow Neutrogena UK PDP and authentic Scalp Relief pack themes—no invented percentages beyond published actives:

Starts to fight dandruff from the first wash / starts to work from 1st use
Helps relieve, reduce and prevent dry, itchy* flaky scalp (*itch due to dandruff)
Highest concentration, extra power formula positioning on UK materials
3% salicylic acid to help split flakes into smaller pieces that rinse away
0.75% piroctone olamine to fight flakes and help prevent future flakes
Up to 24-hour flake reappearance prevention on UK footnote language
Developed with dermatologists
Pack: relieve and prevent scalp dryness, itchiness and flakes
Back label themes on 150 ml units: fragrance free; sulfate-free surfactants; suitable for colour-treated hair

These describe anti-dandruff cleansing support. Climate, diet, styling habits and the rest of your routine still matter. Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo is a wash step, not a prescription steroid or leave-on medical treatment.

How to Use Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo

Official UK and on-pack directions:

Use 2–3 times a week.
Wet hair thoroughly.
Apply liberal amounts of Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo and massage into scalp.
Rinse off with water.

Avoid eye contact; rinse with water if product enters the eyes. Discontinue if irritation occurs. For adult use only per pack warnings. On non-treatment wash days you can use your regular mild shampoo if that fits your routine.

3% Salicylic Acid in Scalp Relief

UK Neutrogena copy explains that 3% salicylic acid in Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo helps split flakes into smaller, less visible pieces that can be washed away easily without stripping the scalp or hair of natural oils. That is exfoliating scalp support inside a shampoo base—not a face peel leave-on.

Because this concentration is higher than the 1% daily T/Gel variants, official guidance spaces use to about two or three times weekly. Follow the pack if your unit prints a different cadence.

0.75% Piroctone Olamine Support

Official pages pair piroctone olamine with salicylic acid. Neutrogena describes 0.75% piroctone olamine as deeply cleansing to fight flakes and help prevent future flakes while leaving the scalp feeling purified and cleansed. Footnotes on the UK page discuss up to 24-hour flake reappearance prevention with regular use under the stated study conditions.

Fragrance-Free and Surfactant Notes on Pack

Authentic 150 ml back labels for Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo call out fragrance free and sulfate-free surfactants alongside suitability for colour-treated hair. We do not invent “hypoallergenic” seals beyond what Neutrogena prints. If your bottle differs by market, trust the INCI and claims printed on that unit.

Itchy Flaky Scalp Positioning

The yellow pack banner states the product is for itchy*, flaky scalp with the asterisk clarifying itch due to dandruff. That footnote matters: marketing itch language here is tied to dandruff, not every cause of scalp itch. Persistent pain, oozing or hair loss needs professional review rather than shampoo swaps alone.

Dry Scalp and Flake Prevention Themes

UK PDP copy for Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo speaks to relieving, reducing and preventing dry, itchy flaky scalp with regular use. Pack lines similarly mention relieving and preventing scalp dryness, itchiness and flakes. Consistency across the stated 2–3 weekly washes is part of how the brand frames results.

Scalp Psoriasis and Seborrhoeic Dermatitis Suitability

On-pack Neutrogena language notes the shampoo is also suitable for people who may be prone to scalp psoriasis and seborrhoeic dermatitis. That is a suitability statement from packaging—not a diagnosis tool and not a cure claim. Keep medical treatments your clinician prescribed; this shampoo may sit alongside them only if your clinician agrees.

Developed With Dermatologists

Both the official UK page badges and Scalp Relief packaging print “Developed with Dermatologists.” We restate that brand positioning without adding unofficial clinic percentages or before-and-after photo claims in the gallery.

How Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo Differs From Daily T/Gel

Within Neutrogena’s T/Gel range, Scalp Relief is the higher salicylic acid option (3%) with 0.75% piroctone olamine and a 2–3 times weekly cadence. Daily-range bottles typically show 1% salicylic acid with lower piroctone olamine levels and different concern colour cues (oily, dry, sensitive, 2-in-1). Do not mix up coal-tar Therapeutic Shampoo with this Scalp Relief SKU.

Colour-Treated Hair Considerations

When the back label marks suitability for colour-treated hair, Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo can fit dyed-hair routines that still need anti-dandruff actives. Use lukewarm water, massage the scalp rather than scrubbing lengths harshly, and follow with a conditioner on mid-lengths and ends if your hair feels dry after clarifying washes.

Suggested Routine Pairings

Wet hair thoroughly in the shower
Massage Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo into the scalp 2–3 times weekly
Rinse completely; optionally follow with conditioner away from the scalp
On other wash days, use a gentle everyday shampoo if needed
Style as usual; avoid heavy scalp oils right before treatment washes

What Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo Is Not

It is not Neutrogena Hydro Boost face care. It is not T/Gel Therapeutic coal-tar shampoo. It is not a dry shampoo, hair oil or leave-on toner. Gallery boards that compare the full T/Gel lineup or show clinical percentage headlines are marketing assets we intentionally keep out of the product gallery when possible.

Packaging Identity for This 150ml Listing

Stock units show a clear bottle with pale yellow-green liquid, light blue flip cap, white/blue label, T/Gel wordmark, Scalp Relief naming, 3% salicylic acid callout and the red first-use banner. Boxes add the yellow itchy-flaky scalp header and dual active percentages. Confirm 150 ml on the base or back label before purchase when comparing regional packs.

Storage and Everyday Care Tips

Keep the cap closed, store away from direct sun, and wipe the neck if residue builds in humid weather. Do not dilute the shampoo in a separate bottle. Discard according to the period-after-opening symbol on your pack (commonly 12M on recent units). Keep out of reach of children.

Why Shop Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo at Lume & Layer BD

We list Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo with clear 150 ml sizing, transparent pricing, and copy grounded in official Neutrogena PDPs and on-pack text—not invented INCI. Category placement under Hair Care, Shampoo & Conditioner, and Scalp & Hair Fall Care helps shoppers comparing anti-dandruff washes find the Scalp Relief strength quickly.

Comparing With Other Scalp Options in Store

Gentle face washes and body cleansers elsewhere in the catalog will not replace a dedicated anti-dandruff shampoo. If flakes are mild and occasional, some shoppers start with milder daily care; if itch and flakes persist, the higher-active Scalp Relief profile is the Neutrogena option this page covers. Cross-check actives on every bottle.

Massage Technique Without Over-Scrubbing

Official steps say to massage into the scalp. Use fingertips, not nails, and focus on the scalp surface where flakes form. Rinse until water runs clear so salicylic acid residue does not sit on the hair shaft longer than needed. Towel blot instead of rough rubbing if lengths feel delicate.

Humidity, AC and Flake Habits in Bangladesh

Humid outdoor air plus strong indoor AC can leave scalps oscillating between sweaty and dry. Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo is still used on the brand’s 2–3 times weekly schedule—more frequent washing is not automatically better and is not what the Scalp Relief directions print. Adjust styling products that build up at the roots between treatment washes.

Reading Footnotes Without Over-Claiming

Neutrogena UK pages include clinical and self-assessment footnotes (participant counts, grading methods). We may mention that studies exist where the brand does, but we avoid pasting large clinical percentage graphics into the gallery and we do not invent new success rates. Trust the PDP footnotes if you need study detail.

External Brand Reference

For the fullest official ingredient and how-to text, use the Neutrogena UK Scalp Relief product page linked above. A second brand hub overview lives at Neutrogena UK — Hair & Scalp if you are comparing T/Gel variants before choosing Scalp Relief.

Wet Hair Thoroughly Before You Lather

Directions for Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo begin with wetting hair thoroughly. Water helps distribute the gel-like shampoo across the scalp so salicylic acid and piroctone olamine contact flake-prone areas instead of sitting only on dry lengths. Take a few seconds to saturate the roots, especially thick or curly hair that sheds water slowly.

If you wear heavy styling cream or dry shampoo, a quick pre-rinse still helps the treatment shampoo reach the scalp. You do not need a separate clarifying wash unless your own routine already uses one on alternate days.

Liberal Amount and Scalp Contact Time

Pack language says to apply liberal amounts and massage into the scalp. “Liberal” means enough product to cover the itchy, flaky zones—not a pea-size dab that never spreads. Work section by section around the crown, hairline and nape where flakes often collect.

Official steps do not print a long leave-on timer for Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo. Massage, then rinse. Extending contact far beyond the printed method is not something we invent here.

Rinse Completely After Every Treatment Wash

Rinse off with water until slip and foam are gone. Residue can weigh hair down and may irritate if left on sensitive skin near the ears. Cooler water at the end can feel soothing for some users, though the brand does not require a cold rinse for efficacy.

After rinsing Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo, continue with conditioner on mid-lengths if your hair type needs slip, keeping rich conditioners mostly off the scalp so you do not immediately re-coat the areas you just treated.

Building a Steady Two-to-Three Day Rhythm

Because Scalp Relief is positioned for 2–3 uses weekly, pick calendar anchors—for example Sunday, Wednesday and Friday—so you do not accidentally wash with the treatment formula every day. On other days, a milder cleanser or water-only rinse on lengths may be enough depending on your hair.

If flakes rebound quickly, resist doubling the weekly count without reading the pack again; Neutrogena’s Scalp Relief cadence is part of how this higher-concentration SKU is differentiated from daily T/Gel bottles.

Travel and Gym Bag Tips for the 150 ml Bottle

The 150 ml bottle of Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo is easier to pack than bulk family sizes. Cap it firmly, store upright when possible, and keep it out of a hot car so the liquid does not expand and leak. After flights, wipe the neck and confirm the flip cap clicked shut before the next shower.

Do not decant into unlabelled bottles if you share a bathroom—mixed-up medicated shampoos are a common household mistake.

Sharing the Bottle Across Household Members

Adult-use warnings appear on pack. Households sometimes share anti-dandruff shampoo, but salicylic acid products are not automatically right for every age or every scalp condition. Keep the bottle labelled, and do not treat children’s scalps with adult medicated formulas unless a clinician directs that plan.

If two adults share Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo, still follow individual tolerance—stop if either person develops lingering irritation.

Layering With Leave-On Scalp Serums

Some routines add leave-on scalp serums on non-shampoo nights. Official Scalp Relief directions do not prescribe a specific serum partner. If you combine products, apply leave-ons to a clean, dry or slightly damp scalp after the shampoo day has ended, and watch for stinging when acids stack.

When in doubt, simplify: consistent use of Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo on its printed schedule is the core step this listing covers.

Hard Water and Lather Feel

Hard water can change how any shampoo lathers. If foam feels weaker than expected, that alone does not mean the bottle is fake—mineral content alters surfactant behaviour. Focus on scalp massage coverage rather than foam height when judging whether you used enough product.

A thorough rinse matters even more in hard-water homes so mineral and shampoo residues do not dull lengths after Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo washes.

When to Pause and Seek Advice

Stop use and seek advice if burning, swelling or rash persists. Pack warnings already say to discontinue if irritation occurs and to rinse eyes thoroughly after accidental contact. Sudden patchy hair loss, thick silvery plaques that worsen, or signs of infection are beyond what an over-the-counter shampoo page should manage.

Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief Shampoo supports dandruff-related flake and itch care per brand claims; it does not replace dermatology visits when symptoms escalate.
