The CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is the lightweight, oil-free, fragrance-free lotion CeraVe built for face, body and hands, accepted by the National Eczema Association and sold here in three sizes. It is the highest-volume product in the CeraVe range worldwide.

It is also the one product in this brand where we have to warn you before you buy. The US and UK cartons are not the same formula, and the difference is not cosmetic. This page publishes both ingredient lists in full and labels every size by origin so you know exactly which bottle is arriving.

Read This Before You Choose a Size

We stock the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion in 87ml and 355ml US cartons and a 236ml UK carton. Here is what actually separates them, taken from CeraVe’s own published ingredient lists on cerave.com and cerave.co.uk:

	US carton (87ml, 355ml)	UK carton (236ml)
Ingredient count	25	24
Ceramide NP / AP / EOP	17th, 18th and 25th of 25	7th, 8th and 9th of 24
Preservative	Phenoxyethanol	Methylparaben and propylparaben
Hyaluronic acid	Sodium hyaluronate, 23rd	Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, 20th
Vitamin E	Tocopherol, 24th	Not present

In plain terms: the UK carton has meaningfully more ceramide and uses parabens. The US carton is paraben-free but its ceramides sit at trace level — Ceramide EOP is literally the last ingredient of twenty-five.

Neither is a bad product. They are different trade-offs, and which one suits you depends on whether you are avoiding parabens or buying this specifically for ceramides. Most retailers list all three sizes as one item and say nothing. We are not doing that.

What the Ingredient Order Actually Tells You

Glycerin is doing the work in both

Second ingredient in both cartons. Whatever else changes, the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is a glycerin-led humectant lotion, and that is why it feels hydrating on contact in either version.

The US ceramide position is the honest problem

Phenoxyethanol sits seventh in the US list. Everything below it is present at low single-digit percentages or less. Ceramides at 17, 18 and 25 are therefore trace inclusions. CeraVe is not lying — the ceramides are in there — but if ceramides are the reason you are buying, the US CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is the weakest way to get them in this brand’s range.

Where to go instead if you want ceramides

The CeraVe Moisturizing Cream places its ceramides ninth to eleventh of twenty-four, and the PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion places them seventh to ninth of twenty-four. Both are dramatically better dosed than the US Daily Lotion. If you want a light lotion with real ceramide content, the 236ml UK carton on this page is the one to pick.

What the US version is genuinely good at

Paraben-free, oil-free, non-comedogenic, and light enough to use on the whole body without feeling coated. As a large-format everyday body lotion for normal to dry skin, the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is excellent value and pleasant to use. Judge it as that rather than as a barrier treatment.

Who It Is For

Whole-body daily use. The 355ml pump is the sensible size for arms, legs and hands after a shower.
Normal to dry skin. CeraVe’s stated target.
Anyone who dislikes heavy creams. Absorbs quickly, no greasy film, works in humidity.
Eczema-prone skin. Carries the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance.
Travel and handbags. The 87ml is the only CeraVe body size that clears airline liquid limits.

Who should look elsewhere: very dry or cracked skin in winter needs the Moisturizing Cream, not a lotion. Anyone buying specifically for ceramides should read the size table above again. And anyone avoiding parabens should take a US carton, not the UK 236ml.

Lightweight CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion for face, body and hands

How to Use the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion

CeraVe’s official direction: “Apply liberally as often as needed, or as directed by a physician.”

Straight after a shower. Within three minutes, on skin that is still slightly damp. This single habit does more than any ingredient in the bottle.
Two to three pumps for the body. It spreads far — most people over-pump and then complain the bottle runs out.
On the face, one pump. It is light enough for facial use in this climate, though a dedicated facial moisturiser will suit oily skin better.
Hands after every wash. The most under-moisturised area on most people.
Reapply as often as you like. There is no active in it to overdose on.

Texture, Absorption and Wear

The CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is genuinely light — thinner than most body lotions sold here, closer to a thick milk than a cream. It pours rather than squeezes, spreads with almost no effort, and sinks in within about thirty seconds.

There is no shine left behind and no tackiness, which is the practical reason the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion works in this climate: you can dress within a minute of applying it. Heavier body creams leave a film that clothes stick to for the next hour.

It has no scent at all. Not a light scent — none. For a body product that is unusual, and it is deliberate: fragrance is the leading cause of contact reactions in leave-on body products, and a lotion applied over your whole body every day is the worst possible place to take that risk.

CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion being applied to the face

Building a Body Routine Around It

A body routine built around the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is simpler than a face routine, and most people still get the sequence wrong.

The whole routine

Shower warm rather than hot, keep it short, pat dry, then the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion within three minutes while skin is still slightly damp. That is the entire thing. Adding steps does not improve it.

Where to use more

Shins, elbows, knees, heels and the backs of the hands hold the least oil and dry out first. Apply a second pass there. Everywhere else needs less than people use.

What to layer over it

On genuinely cracked heels or elbows, an ointment over the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion works better than either alone — the lotion delivers water, the ointment stops it leaving.

What not to pair it with

Do not layer it under a body exfoliant expecting it to buffer the acid. Body AHA products are designed to sit on bare skin; putting the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion underneath simply blocks them.

Face Use: an Honest Assessment

CeraVe markets this for face, body and hands, and plenty of people here use the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion as their only facial moisturiser. Whether that is a good idea depends on your skin.

It works well on normal to dry facial skin, under makeup, and in summer when a cream feels like too much. It is non-comedogenic and oil-free, so it is not going to cause breakouts on most people.

It works less well if you want facial actives. There is no niacinamide in the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion, unlike the PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion, and in the US carton the ceramides are trace. For a face-only purchase, the PM lotion is a materially better formula at a similar price.

Our honest recommendation: buy the 355ml CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion for your body, and buy a proper facial moisturiser for your face. Using one bottle for both is convenient but you are under-serving the face.

Value: What You Actually Get Per Taka

The CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is the cheapest way to buy CeraVe by volume, and by a wide margin. The 355ml pump costs less per millilitre than any other format in the range, which is why it is the single best-selling CeraVe product globally.

For whole-body daily use that maths matters. A face cream lasts months because you use a pea; a body lotion applied to arms, legs and torso goes through volume fast. Buying the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion in the small size for body use is a false economy — the 87ml exists for travel, not for value.

Where the value case weakens is if you are buying it as a treatment product. Judged on actives, the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is the plainest formula in the CeraVe range. Judged as a large-format, fragrance-free, dermatologist-developed body lotion, it is very hard to beat at this price in Bangladesh.

Why We Published Both Ingredient Lists

We could have printed one list, called it “the ingredients”, and sold all three sizes without anyone noticing. That is what every other listing of the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion in this market does.

We did not, for two reasons. Someone avoiding parabens deserves to know that one of these three bottles contains them. And someone buying a ceramide lotion deserves to know that in the US carton the ceramides sit at the very bottom of the list.

Neither fact makes the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion a bad buy. Both facts change which size you should choose, which is exactly the kind of thing a product page is for.

Which Size Should You Buy?

Size	Carton	Best for
87ml	US, paraben-free	Handbag, travel, trying it. Clears airline liquid limits.
236ml	UK, ceramides high, contains parabens	Face and targeted use where ceramide content matters most.
355ml	US, paraben-free	Whole-body daily use. Best value per ml.

If you want one bottle and do not care about the paraben question, take the 355ml. If you are buying the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion specifically for barrier repair, take the 236ml UK carton and accept the preservative system that comes with it.

Lotion or Cream?

The most common question we get about the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion and its sibling, and the answer is texture and season rather than quality.

	Daily Moisturizing Lotion	Moisturizing Cream
Texture	Light, pours from a pump	Rich, tub or tube
Ceramide position (US)	17th, 18th, 25th	9th, 10th, 11th
Best season here	Summer and monsoon	Winter, or very dry skin year-round
Best for	Whole body, fast application	Dry patches, barrier repair

Plenty of households here run both — the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion for daily whole-body use in the heat, and the cream on elbows, heels and shins in winter.

Using It in the Bangladeshi Climate

Humidity favours a lotion. A heavy cream applied head to toe in Dhaka summer sits on the skin, mixes with sweat and feels unpleasant within an hour. The CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion absorbs fast enough to dress over immediately, which is why lotions outsell creams here nine months of the year.

Air conditioning is the hidden problem. Sleeping in AC pulls water out of skin all night regardless of the humidity outside. If you wake with tight forearms and shins, that is the cause, and a lotion applied before bed fixes it.

Hard water leaves skin tighter after washing. Parts of Dhaka have noticeably hard supply water. Moisturising immediately after a shower matters more here than the marketing suggests.

Storage. Room temperature, out of direct sun. The pump keeps air out, which matters for a bottle you will have open for months.

Common Mistakes

Applying to fully dry skin. You lose most of the benefit. Damp skin, within three minutes of the shower.
Buying it for ceramides without checking the carton. The whole point of the table above.
Using it on very dry, cracked skin. A lotion is not enough. Use a cream or an ointment there.
Expecting it to treat eczema. The NEA seal means it was reviewed as suitable for eczema-prone skin, not that it treats eczema.
Over-pumping. Two to three pumps covers arms and legs. Four is waste.

What CeraVe Does Not Publish

No concentrations for any ingredient, and no country of manufacture on either official product page. What CeraVe does publish, and what we have reproduced here in full, is the ingredient order for both cartons — which is the only way to see that they are different formulas at all.

CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic and NEA accepted

The Pump, the Bottle and Shelf Life

Every size of the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion uses a pump rather than a flip cap, and for a bottle you will keep open for two or three months that is the right call. Nothing goes into the product but the dip tube, and the dose is consistent enough that you stop over-applying without thinking about it.

The larger bottles are made from recycled plastic and the pump is the one component that is not. Practically, that means the bottle recycles cleanly at end of life if you separate the pump first.

Once opened, go by the period-after-opening symbol on the carton. At whole-body daily use the bottle is finished well within that window, so it is almost never the limiting factor. Store it at room temperature and out of direct sun; a bathroom shelf is fine, a windowsill is not.

If the lotion separates, thickens noticeably or smells different, stop using it. That is unusual for a preserved lotion and normally means it was stored somewhere very hot for a long stretch.

A Note on the Claims We Left Off

CeraVe’s own marketing assets for this product carry a “number one dermatologist recommended brand” line and a 48-hour hydration figure. Neither appears on this page.

The first is an absolute superlative about the brand rather than a fact about the bottle, and this store does not print those. The second is a manufacturer test result we have no way to verify or reproduce, so we have left it where it belongs — on CeraVe’s site, which you can reach from the link below.

Everything else here is taken directly from CeraVe’s published ingredient lists and directions for the US and UK cartons, and you are welcome to check every line of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the sizes really different formulas?

Yes. The US and UK cartons differ in ceramide position and preservative system. Both lists are printed in full above so you can check them yourself.

Which size should I buy for my face?

The 236ml UK carton has the better ceramide content. For oily skin, the PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion is a better facial choice than either.

Can I use the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion on my face?

Yes. CeraVe markets it for face, body and hands. It is light enough for most skin in this climate.

Does it contain SPF?

No. The AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion is the one with sunscreen.

Is it good for eczema?

It carries the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance, meaning it was reviewed as suitable for eczema-prone skin. It is not a treatment — see a doctor for that.

Will it clog pores?

It is non-comedogenic and oil-free.

Can children use it?

Yes, though CeraVe makes a dedicated Baby Moisturizing Cream for the first four years.

How long does the 355ml last?

Whole-body once daily, roughly two to three months.

Why is the 87ml so much more expensive per ml?

Small formats always are. Buy it for travel, not for value.
