VT is upfront about this — the bottle says vegan — but the word “PDRN” is doing heavy lifting, and you deserve to know exactly what you are paying for. The texture is the first surprise. VT PDRN Essence 100 is not a watery Korean essence; it is a light milky lotion. That is deliberate, and it comes from the emollient esters high in the list.

It sits between toner and moisturiser in a routine, and it pairs directly with the VT PDRN Cream 100 we already stock — same range, same ginseng story, essence first and cream on top.

PDRN, Phyto PDRN, and what the difference is

This is the section that matters, so we will be precise.

Real PDRN — polydeoxyribonucleotide — is a fragmented DNA extract, in medical use derived from salmon or trout. It is used in injectable form in clinics and has a genuine body of research behind it. It is a pharmaceutical-grade material.

“Phyto PDRN” or “Vegan PDRN” is not that. It is a trade name for a plant extract — here, Korean wild ginseng root — chosen because it is claimed to behave similarly. It contains no polydeoxyribonucleotide.

Now look at the ingredient list of VT PDRN Essence 100. Panax Ginseng Root Extract sits third of thirty-one, consistent with a 10% claim. And Sodium DNA — the only genuine DNA-class ingredient in the bottle — sits thirty-first. Dead last.

So the product does contain a DNA derivative, and it is present at the very bottom of a thirty-one-ingredient list. If you are buying VT PDRN Essence 100 expecting the ingredient your dermatologist injects, this is not that product. If you are buying a well-formulated ginseng and ceramide essence at a fair price, it is a good one. We would rather you chose with the facts.

VT PDRN Essence 100 has no fragrance, no parfum, no alcohol and no essential oils. On a Korean essence that is genuinely uncommon, and it is one of the strongest things about this formula.

Five ceramides — the best thing in the bottle

Ceramide NP, NS, AS, EOP and AP — VT PDRN Essence 100 carries a five-ceramide complex, which is more complete than the three-ceramide system CeraVe is famous for. Add hydrogenated lecithin, squalane and two seed oils and you have a genuinely good barrier-support formula.

Honestly assessed, the ceramide complex in VT PDRN Essence 100 is a better reason to buy it than the PDRN branding is.

The one we would flag before you order

Isopropyl myristate sits second — the position directly after water. It is a lightweight ester used to make products feel silky and absorb fast, and it is also the ingredient with the strongest comedogenic reputation in common cosmetic use.

The fair context: comedogenicity ratings come from decades-old rabbit-ear studies on raw ingredients at high concentration, and they translate poorly to finished formulas. VT states the product is low-irritation tested. Plenty of people use this with no trouble at all.

But at second position it is present in real quantity, and combined with caprylic/capric triglyceride fourth and cetyl ethylhexanoate fifth, the top five ingredients of VT PDRN Essence 100 are water plus three emollient esters. That is an oil-forward formula wearing the word “essence”.

If you are acne-prone or congested, this is the fact to weigh. If your skin is normal, dry or dehydrated, it is exactly why the texture feels so good.

The clinical claims, and where each number comes from

VT publishes real figures with real footnotes for VT PDRN Essence 100. We enlarged the footnotes so you can see what they say.

• “144.84% increase in absorption” and “5.5× higher absorption.” Footnote: clinically tested for improved skin absorption, compared to animal-derived PDRN, by the Korea Institute of Dermatological Sciences. Note what that comparison concedes — animal-derived PDRN is the benchmark being measured against.
• “+36.53% improves skin elasticity, +32.99% strengthens skin barrier, +24.62% boosts skin hydration.” Footnote: clinically tested by KC Skin Research Center. VT does not publish the sample size.
• The before-and-after photographs beside those percentages carry their own separate footnote: VT Cosmetics global ambassador review images. They are not from the clinical study — they are ambassador photos, under a heading that reads “clinically proven results”.

That last one is the detail we would most want you to notice. The percentages and the photographs sit in the same panel under one headline, and they come from two different places. Nothing is being falsified — both footnotes are printed — but a reader glancing at it would reasonably assume the photos came from the trial. They did not.

How VT PDRN Essence 100 behaves in Bangladesh

• Two to three drops for the whole face. It spreads much further than it looks like it will.
• After toner, before moisturiser. On damp skin if you can.
• Pat, do not rub. Milky essences absorb better with pressure than friction.
• Layer with the cream if your skin is dry — VT PDRN Essence 100 and the PDRN Cream 100 are designed as a pair.
• It layers under sunscreen and makeup without pilling, which VT specifically claims and which holds up in practice.

Think twice if: you are acne-prone and react to esters; you specifically want real, salmon-derived PDRN, which this is not; you want a lightweight watery essence, because this is milky; or you are expecting clinical-grade results from a cosmetic, which no essence delivers.

Ginseng in skincare — what is actually behind it

Since ginseng is the headline ingredient in VT PDRN Essence 100 at a claimed 10%, it is worth knowing what the evidence looks like rather than taking the marketing at face value.

Panax ginseng root extract has been used in Korean skincare for decades and is not a novelty ingredient. Its active compounds, ginsenosides, have published antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, and there is reasonable laboratory evidence for effects on collagen-related pathways. Several small human studies report improvements in wrinkle depth and skin elasticity from topical ginseng preparations.

What that evidence does not establish is that ginseng does what polydeoxyribonucleotide does. They are different molecules acting by different mechanisms, and the studies that exist for each are not interchangeable. VT’s own comparison image measures absorption against animal-derived PDRN — a useful number, but absorption is not the same as effect.

Against a genuine salmon-PDRN product. Those exist and they are considerably more expensive, and the ones that matter are administered in clinics rather than bought in bottles. If that is what you want, VT PDRN Essence 100 is not a substitute and we will tell you so rather than take the sale.

Authenticity, storage and what to check

Korean skincare is the most counterfeited category in Bangladesh, and a viral product like this one attracts fakes faster than most. Four checks on any bottle of VT PDRN Essence 100:

Is it vegan?

VT markets it as vegan and the bottle carries a vegan certification mark. The ingredient list supports that — Sodium DNA in cosmetics is typically salmon-derived, so if strict veganism matters to you, ask us and we will chase VT for the source before you order.

Can I use it with retinol or acids?
