Description

The MEDICUBE Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner is a 250ml exfoliating toner with a squeeze nozzle instead of a splash opening, made for both face and body. It is not a hydrating toner. Glycolic acid sits 3rd on a 31-ingredient list and kojic acid sits 12th, which makes this an active resurfacing step, not a gentle prep step. Read the whole page before you buy it, because it comes with real usage limits that MEDICUBE itself prints on the packaging.

What the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner actually is

The Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner carries the full name Kojic Acid Turmeric Resurfacing Toner on the bottle: 250ml / 8.45 fl oz. The applicator is a pointed nozzle tip, so you squeeze it directly onto skin rather than decanting it onto a cotton pad. MEDICUBE, the Korean skincare brand, positions it for uneven tone, dark-looking patches, rough texture, dullness and dead-skin buildup — on the face and on body areas like underarms, elbows and knees.

Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner key ingredients: kojic acid, turmeric and glycolic acid

The 31 ingredients in the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner, counted in order

Every position below was counted from the published list. No guessing:

  • Water — 1st.
  • Niacinamide — 2nd of 31. Unusually high placement for a toner.
  • Glycolic acid — 3rd. The AHA doing the exfoliating.
  • Sodium hydroxide — 5th. Present to raise the pH; a raw glycolic solution would be far too acidic.
  • Turmeric root extract — 7th.
  • Adenosine — 10th. Korean functional anti-wrinkle ingredient.
  • Kojic acid — 12th.
  • Monascus extract — 13th. Red yeast rice extract, largely a colourant here.
  • Lavender oil — 14th and bergamot fruit oil — 15th. Two fragrance oils. See the sensitivity section.
  • Allantoin — 16th, panthenol — 17th, glycerin — 18th. The soothing and humectant side.
  • Ceramide NP — 24th.
  • Eight hyaluronic acid forms — 23rd and 25th to 31st.

What MEDICUBE does not publish about the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner

Two numbers are missing and we are not going to invent them: the glycolic acid percentage and the finished pH. Both determine how strong an AHA product actually is. Glycolic acid at 3rd place with sodium hydroxide at 5th tells you the formula is meaningfully acidic and then buffered back up, but it does not tell you whether you are looking at a 3% product or a 10% one. If a seller quotes you a percentage for the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner, ask them where they got it, because MEDICUBE has not stated it.

MEDICUBE Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner official usage notice and irritation guidance

MEDICUBE’s own warning label for the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner

This is printed by the brand, not written by us. We are reproducing it because it matters more than any marketing copy on this page:

  • Because of the high concentration of kojic acid, you may notice a temporary white residue. This is normal and does not affect efficacy.
  • Mild tingling may occur due to the exfoliating ingredients.
  • If you experience strong irritation, reduce use to two or three times per week, in the evening.
  • Avoid combining with strong exfoliants — BHA, LHA, high-concentration AHA — with retinoids (retinol, retinal), or with high-potency vitamin C.
  • Do not use it on cotton pads as a mask. That intensifies irritation.
  • If sensitivity persists, stop using it and see a dermatologist.

Sunscreen is not optional with this toner

Alpha hydroxy acids increase skin’s sensitivity to the sun, and that sensitivity persists for about a week after you stop using them. This is well-established and is why AHA products carry a sunburn alert in several markets. If you are going to use the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner, a broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning is part of the deal, not a suggestion. In Dhaka sun that means reapplying if you are outside for long stretches.

Why we are not quoting the clinical percentages

MEDICUBE publishes study results for this product in two places — a graphic in the image gallery and a text block on the product page — and the two do not agree. The graphic says texture refinement of 39.22%; the page text says 52.62%. Tone improvement is 6.34% in one and 6.35% in the other. We are not going to print a figure on a product page when the brand’s own two sources contradict each other, and we have left the before-and-after photo out of our gallery for the same reason. Buy the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner for what is in the bottle, which we have listed above in full.

MEDICUBE Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner 250ml exfoliating toner for face and body

Who the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner suits

Normal, oily and combination skin that is already used to exfoliating acids and wants a texture-and-tone step that also works on the body. The niacinamide at 2nd place is a genuine strength here — most exfoliating toners bury it far lower or leave it out. If your main complaints are rough texture on the arms, dullness, or uneven tone on the underarms, elbows and knees, this format makes those areas easy to treat.

Who should skip the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner

Skip it if your skin is currently compromised, peeling, or reacting to something else. Skip it if you are already using a retinoid, a BHA, or a strong vitamin C and are not willing to reorganise your routine around it — MEDICUBE explicitly says not to stack them. Skip it if you have a fragrance-oil sensitivity, because lavender oil at 14th and bergamot oil at 15th are both present. Skip it if you are pregnant or nursing without checking with your doctor first. And if you have never used an AHA before, start somewhere gentler.

How to use the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner with its nozzle applicator

How to use the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner

After cleansing, squeeze the nozzle directly onto the skin and spread it with the tip — no cotton pad, no hands needed. Let it absorb, then follow with your serum and moisturiser. Evening use is the safer default. Sunscreen in the morning without fail.

On the body, apply it to clean, dry skin on underarms, elbows or knees and let it dry before dressing. Do not apply it immediately after shaving or waxing.

How often to use the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner

Start at two nights a week for the first fortnight. If your skin is comfortable, work up gradually. Daily use is possible for skin that tolerates acids well, but it is not the starting point, and MEDICUBE’s own guidance is to drop back to two or three evenings a week the moment irritation shows up. There is no prize for using the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner every day.

The white residue on the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner, explained

Kojic acid at a high concentration can leave a faint pale film as the product dries. MEDICUBE flags this on the packaging and says it does not affect how the product works. It is cosmetic, it rubs away, and it is more visible on body skin than on the face. It is not a sign the product has gone off.

What the tingling means

A mild, short-lived tingle when an acid goes on is common. Burning, stinging that lasts, redness that does not settle within a few minutes, or any peeling are different — those are irritation, not activity, and the response is to stop, not to push through. This is the single most common mistake people make with an exfoliating toner.

Building a routine around the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner

Evening: cleanse, apply the toner, wait a minute, then a simple hydrating serum, then moisturiser. Morning: cleanse, moisturiser, sunscreen. On nights you use this, drop everything else that is active. On nights you do not, use your retinoid or your other treatments. Keeping them on separate nights is easier than trying to buffer them together and it is exactly what MEDICUBE recommends.

Layering with vitamin C

Keep them apart. Vitamin C in the morning and the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner in the evening works. Both in the same sitting does not, and MEDICUBE names high-potency vitamin C in its avoid list. If your vitamin C serum is a low-strength derivative rather than L-ascorbic acid, the risk is lower, but separating them is still the sensible call.

Sensitivity: the two fragrance oils in the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner

Lavender oil at 14th and bergamot fruit oil at 15th give this product its scent. Both are common contact-sensitisation triggers for some people, and untreated bergamot contains furocoumarins that are phototoxic — cosmetic-grade bergamot is normally furocoumarin-free, but MEDICUBE does not state which grade it uses. We are not claiming the product is phototoxic. We are saying that on a leave-on AHA product where you already need sunscreen, this is one more reason to actually wear it, and one more reason to patch test.

How to patch test the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner

Apply a small amount to the inside of your forearm once a day for three days. Leave it on. Watch for redness, itching, bumps or persistent burning. If nothing happens, try a small patch near the jaw for two more days before going full face. Skip this step and you are gambling with a product that contains an AHA and two fragrance oils.

Using it in Bangladesh weather

Two things change here. First, sun exposure is high year-round, so the AHA sun-sensitivity point carries more weight than it would in a colder climate — sunscreen every single morning. Second, in the humid months a lightweight gel moisturiser over the toner is usually enough, while in the drier December-to-February stretch you will want something richer on top, because an exfoliated barrier loses water faster.

Storing the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner

Cap the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner, keep it upright, store it out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Do not decant it into another bottle. Use it within twelve months of opening.

Size and how long the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner lasts

250ml is a large bottle for a toner, and the nozzle applicator means you use less per application than a cotton-pad method would. Used two or three evenings a week on the face plus occasional body use, a bottle will comfortably last several months.

What we will not tell you

We will not tell you the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner lightens skin, bleaches, or gives you a specific number of shades. We will not quote the brand’s study percentages, for the reason above. We will not tell you a product with an unstated acid percentage is safe for everyone. What we will tell you is exactly what is in it, in what order, and what MEDICUBE itself says about how to use it safely.

How glycolic acid works on skin

Glycolic acid is the smallest of the alpha hydroxy acids, which is why it is the one that penetrates most readily. It loosens the bonds holding dead cells at the surface, so those cells shed on schedule instead of piling up and dulling the skin. That is the entire mechanism — it does not “deep clean” pores the way a BHA does, and it does not bleach. Smaller molecule means faster action and also more sting, which is why the buffering with sodium hydroxide at 5th place matters as much as the acid itself.

What kojic acid does, and what it does not

Kojic acid is a tyrosinase inhibitor, which means it interferes with one step in the pigment-production pathway. In practice it is used for the look of uneven tone and post-blemish marks. It works slowly, it works while you keep using it, and it does nothing for pigment that is already sitting in the skin from sun exposure if you carry on getting sun exposure. Pairing it with sunscreen is not an accessory step; without it you are refilling the bucket you are trying to empty.

Turmeric and the colour

Turmeric root extract sits 7th and monascus extract 13th. Between them they account for the deep amber colour of the liquid. Turmeric is a traditional skincare ingredient with antioxidant interest behind it; at 7th place on a 31-ingredient list it is a real inclusion rather than a token one, though we would not build a purchase decision around it. The colour can transfer briefly onto very light fabric, so let it dry before you dress.

What comes in the box

One 250ml bottle with the moulded nozzle tip and an over-cap, in a printed carton. No cotton pads, no applicator, nothing else — the nozzle is the applicator.

Honest summary

This is a well-put-together exfoliating toner with a genuinely strong top of the list — niacinamide at 2nd is better than most competitors manage — and an applicator that makes body use practical. It is let down by an undisclosed acid percentage and pH, and by two fragrance oils that limit who can use it. If you already use acids and you want one product for face and body texture, it earns its place. If you are new to exfoliation or your skin runs sensitive, it is the wrong first purchase.

Authenticity

This Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner is authentic MEDICUBE stock. All photography here is MEDICUBE’s own official imagery. We have deliberately excluded the brand’s before-and-after graphic and its study-result percentages.

If you want the same kojic-and-turmeric line in another format, we also carry the MEDICUBE Kojic Acid Turmeric Serum and the MEDICUBE Kojic Acid Turmeric Night Wrapping Mask 75ml. On the nights you skip this toner, a plain hydrating step such as the MEDICUBE PDRN Pink Niacinamide Milky Toner 150ml or the MEDICUBE Hyaluronic Multi Peptide PDRN Serum 30ml is the sensible pairing. The full ingredient list appears on MEDICUBE’s official product page, and the sun-sensitivity warning required on AHA products is set out by the US FDA.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner every day? Possibly, once your skin has adjusted, but start at two nights a week. MEDICUBE’s own advice is to cut back to two or three evenings a week if you feel irritation.

Can I use the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner with retinol? Not in the same routine. MEDICUBE lists retinol and retinal in its avoid-combining list. Alternate nights.

Why is there a white film on my skin? That is the kojic acid. The brand states it is normal and does not affect efficacy.

Is the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner safe on the body? Yes, that is part of the design. Underarms, elbows and knees are the areas MEDICUBE names. Not on freshly shaved or waxed skin.

Does the Kojic Acid Turmeric Toner contain fragrance? There is no compounded parfum, but lavender oil and bergamot oil at 14th and 15th give it a scent. It is not suitable if you avoid fragrance ingredients.

What is the glycolic acid percentage? MEDICUBE has not published it. Anyone quoting you a figure is guessing.

Can I soak a cotton pad and leave it on as a mask? No. MEDICUBE explicitly warns against this because it intensifies irritation.

Do I really need sunscreen? Yes. AHAs increase sun sensitivity, and that effect lasts about a week after you stop.
