What the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum is
The Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum 30 is a 50 g jar of pale green jelly that you scoop and pat into damp skin. It is the sibling of the Red Smoothie Serum — same jar, same jelly format, same place in a routine — but a different formula aimed at pigmentation and fine lines rather than firmness.
It is fragrance-free. It carries Korea’s dual functional certification for whitening and wrinkle improvement, which is a regulated status rather than a marketing line. And it is, on the substance, the best product Arencia makes of the seven we now stock.
It also has the most inaccurate ingredient panel we have found on any product in this range, and we are going to go through that in detail. Both things are true at once.
The Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum Vitamin ACE Complex contains no vitamin A
Arencia’s key-ingredient panel leads with “Vitamin ACE Complex 30%”. That is also where the 30 in the product name comes from — the brand confirms it on their own graphic.
ACE means vitamins A, C and E. The Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum contains four forms of vitamin C and one form of vitamin E. It contains no vitamin A of any kind. There is no retinol, no retinal, no retinyl palmitate, no retinyl acetate, no beta-carotene — nothing in the thirty-eight-ingredient list that is a vitamin A compound or converts to one.
We checked this against Arencia’s own Korean legal ingredient listing, which Korean law requires them to publish in full, and against the ingredient panel printed on their own marketing image. Both lists are identical and neither contains vitamin A.
A “Vitamin ACE Complex” with no A in it is not a small slip. It is the name of the product.
And the vitamin B is the wrong vitamin B
The same panel lists “Vitamin B (Riboflavin)”. Riboflavin is vitamin B2. It does not appear anywhere in the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum.
What the formula actually contains is pyridoxine, which is vitamin B6, at position twenty-five. It also contains niacinamide, which is vitamin B3, at position six, and panthenol, which is provitamin B5, at position twenty-four. Three B vitamins are present. Riboflavin is not one of them.
So on a single four-line ingredient graphic, Arencia has claimed a vitamin the product does not contain and named the wrong one of the vitamins it does. We sell this serum and we still think you should see that.
Now the good part, and it is genuinely good
Having said all that, this is the Arencia product we would actually recommend on its merits, and the reason is regulatory rather than promotional.
Korea operates a functional cosmetics system. A product cannot claim 미백 (whitening) or 주름개선 (wrinkle improvement) unless it contains an approved active at an approved concentration and has been notified to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum carries both certifications.
That has a concrete consequence. Korea’s approved anti-wrinkle concentration for adenosine is 0.04 percent, so a product carrying the wrinkle claim must contain at least that much. Adenosine is the fourteenth ingredient here. Niacinamide is Korea’s approved whitening agent and sits sixth. Neither of those is a number the brand chose for a graphic — they are floors a regulator enforces.
Retailers describe the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum as containing 10 percent niacinamide. Arencia’s own Korean listing does not state a figure, so we cannot confirm it and will not repeat it as fact. What we can tell you is that position six in a formula whose first five ingredients are water and solvents is consistent with a substantial amount, and that the whitening certification requires a real one.

The hyssop is eighteenth, and this time there is no number
Hyssopus officinalis extract sits at position eighteen of thirty-eight, below sodium hyaluronate and below the gardenia.
On the Blue Hyssop cleanser Arencia declared their hyssop at 1.05 ppm. Here they declare nothing. Korean law required the figure on that product and not on this one, so we have no concentration to give you — only the position, and the observation that it sits below the one percent line where ordering becomes arbitrary.
The pattern holds for a seventh time. Every Arencia product we have listed puts the ingredient on the front of the pack somewhere it cannot be doing the work. In this case the hyssop is not why the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum works. The niacinamide and the adenosine are, and both are certified.
Eight forms of hyaluronic acid in the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum
Arencia markets seven hyaluronic acid types. We count eight in the list: sodium hyaluronate at seventeen, then sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, potassium hyaluronate, hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, hyaluronic acid and sodium acetylated hyaluronate — the last seven all bunched at positions thirty-one to thirty-eight.
The argument for using several molecular weights is real: larger molecules hold water at the surface, smaller ones sit slightly deeper. It is not nonsense. But seven of the eight are at the very bottom of the list, and counting derivatives is an easy way to make one ingredient class look like seven.
The Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum will hydrate. It is a humectant jelly and it does that job. Just do not read “seven types of hyaluronic acid” as seven times the effect.
Ceramide NP and glycosphingolipids
Both are genuine barrier ingredients and both are welcome, at positions twenty-nine and thirty. Low in the list, but in a water-based jelly with no oils, they are the only barrier-supporting lipids present.
The 17.5 percent and 6.8 percent figures
Arencia publishes two results for the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum: pigmentation reduced by 17.5 percent and wrinkles and fine lines reduced by 6.8 percent, both after two weeks.
Stating a duration is worth something. The Blue Hyssop cleanser claims a 13 percent blackhead reduction with no timeframe at all, which is close to meaningless. Two weeks at least tells you what was measured and when.
What is missing is everything else: how many people, what instrument, self-reported or measured, and by whom. Compare that with the Rice + LHA cleanser, where Arencia states thirty-two subjects and instrumental evaluation. They can publish methodology when they choose to. On this product they did not.
Take 17.5 percent as a brand claim, not a finding. The regulatory certification behind the actives is the stronger evidence here, and it is the reason we would still buy it.
One claim we would not make
Arencia’s benefits panel says the serum “removes fine lines”. Korea certified this product for 주름개선, which translates as wrinkle improvement, not removal.
No topical serum removes a line. Niacinamide and adenosine can soften the appearance of fine lines over months, and that is a real and worthwhile effect. The Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum is not going to erase anything, and we would rather set that expectation now than field the message in eight weeks.
How to use the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum
- Cleanse, then apply toner or essence and leave the skin slightly damp.
- Scoop a pea-sized amount with a clean, dry fingertip.
- Spread thinly and pat until absorbed. Do not rub the jelly in.
- Give it a minute to set before the next layer.
- Follow with moisturiser. In dry weather it needs something over it.
- Sunscreen every morning without exception.
That last point is not filler. The Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum is a pigmentation product built on niacinamide and four vitamin C forms. Using it without daily sunscreen means treating pigmentation while continuing to cause it, and you will not see the two-week figure or anything like it.
Layering the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum with other actives
Niacinamide, adenosine and hyaluronic acid are all well tolerated and none needs a rest day. This layers comfortably with peptides, ceramides and most moisturisers.
With acids and retinoids, use judgement. There is no acid in the serum itself, so there is no direct conflict, but four vitamin C derivatives on skin that is already exfoliated can tip into stinging. If you use a retinoid nightly, run the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum in the morning instead, under sunscreen.
Do not layer it with the Red Smoothie Serum. Both are niacinamide jellies in the same slot; you would be paying twice for the same job.
Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum shelf life and how long a jar lasts
Arencia’s Korean listing gives three years from manufacture and six months after opening. Manufactured in Korea by Minu Story for Arencia. All skin types.
Six months matters more on this product than on the cleansers. There are four vitamin C derivatives in the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum, and vitamin C oxidises. A 50 g jar used nightly lasts around three months, so you should finish it well inside the window — but if you use it a few nights a week and stretch it past six months, the vitamin C will not be what it was. If the colour deepens or the smell turns, stop.
Scoop with dry fingers. Water in the jar shortens everything.
How the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum suits this climate
Well. It is a water-based jelly with no oils, so it sits light under sunscreen in Dhaka humidity, and for normal or oily skin through the summer it may be all the hydration you need before SPF.
From December it will not be enough alone — layer a moisturiser over it rather than replacing it.
The pigmentation angle is the local argument for this product. Strong year-round sun drives melanin production continuously, and a certified whitening serum is doing useful work here in a way it would not in a grey climate. Paired with sunscreen, the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum is a sensible long-term purchase for anyone dealing with post-acne marks or uneven tone in Bangladesh.
Who the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum suits
Good fit: uneven tone, dark spots, post-acne marks, dullness, early fine lines, dehydrated skin, oily and combination skin that wants hydration without oils, and anyone who reacts to fragrance.
Poor fit: very dry skin needing oils and ceramides in quantity, anyone who has reacted badly to niacinamide before, and anyone wanting fast results. Two weeks is the brand’s number; three months is a realistic one.
Serum 30 or Serum 12 — which to buy
Arencia sells two Holy Hyssop serums and almost everyone reads them wrong, ourselves included until we checked. The numbers are not strengths. They are the percentage of the Vita ACE Complex, and they say nothing about the actives.
On the actives that matter, the smaller bottle is the stronger product. The Holy Hyssop Serum 12 has niacinamide as its second ingredient, printed at 10 percent on the bottle, plus arbutin and kojic acid and five peptides. The Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum 30 has niacinamide sixth with no percentage stated, and none of those other actives.
What the Serum 30 has instead is eight forms of hyaluronic acid against the Serum 12 one, a 50 g jar against 30 ml, and a considerably better price per unit — roughly forty taka per gram against sixty-three taka per millilitre.
So buy the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum 30 for hydration, glow and value, and for a gentler introduction to niacinamide. Buy the Serum 12 if dark spots are the specific problem you are trying to solve and you want the strongest brightening formula Arencia makes. We would rather correct ourselves in public than sell you the wrong jar.
It is also worth comparing against the Red Smoothie Serum 30, which is the same format at a slightly lower price. That one pairs niacinamide with arbutin and is aimed at dark spots specifically. This one pairs niacinamide with adenosine and vitamin C and carries the wrinkle certification the Red Smoothie does not. If you want pigmentation alone, either works. If you want pigmentation and fine lines, this is the one.
What 50 g of the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum works out to per use
A pea-sized amount is roughly half a gram, so a 50 g jar gives around a hundred applications — about three months nightly. That puts the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum a little under twenty taka per use.
For a dual-certified functional serum with ceramides and eight hyaluronic acid forms, that is fair. We would not call it cheap, and we would not pretend the Vitamin ACE branding adds anything to what you are paying for.

No, and that is not what the Korean whitening category means. 미백 covers evening out pigmentation and fading dark spots. It does not change your natural skin colour and nothing sold as skincare should claim to.
Is the Arencia Holy Hyssop Serum safe in pregnancy?
There is no retinoid, no salicylic acid, no fragrance and no vitamin A in it, which removes the usual concerns. Ask your doctor anyway rather than taking a shop’s word for it.
